Position Summary:

Join the creative marketing team at American College of Education in Indianapolis (or as a remote employee) as a Web Developer. In this position, you will help take the college’s online presence to the next level by helping to shape our customer-facing digital tools. The ideal candidate will be analytical, creative, motivated to help us fuel business growth and have the web savvy to bridge the gap between design and technical implementation. This position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing and will work in conjunction with the IT team and third-party vendors. Competitive starting salary based on experience. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance new and existing front-end and back-end features primarily for and other external facing websites using CMS solutions in Sitefinity, HTML and Javascript
  • Create and update custom web forms, apply usability and accessibility principles, provide technical expertise for websites, and troubleshoot any website issues
  • Implement information architecture best practices for a more intuitive user experience and to avoid duplication of content creation; leverage application “data” as content
  • Provide leadership and direction for the design of our customer-facing digital tools, specifically developing a UI/UX strategy and ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs to continually improve ACE’s digital customer experience
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Marketing and Marketing Managers to analyze business needs/requirements and produce detailed wireframes that meet strategic objectives
  • Translate requirements, wireframes and conceptual designs into high-quality, visually appealing, responsive, cross-browser compatible, high-performing and intuitive user interfaces and user experiences
  • Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability
  • Optimize website CMS processes and workflows
  • Implement a broad Google Analytics strategy to leverage data to inform decisions and effectiveness of ACE’s customer-facing digital tools. Track, compile and analyze web site usage data.
  • Maintain consistent design and theming across all websites while elevating the ACE Brand
  • Willing to provide after-hours/non-workday support on-site or via remote access
  • Proactively recommend web and design solutions to enhance the College’s online presence

  • Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, graphic design, visual communications, multimedia or similar field
  • 7+ years of experience in web design and development
  • Strong project management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS, Sitefinity (custom pages, administration), Adobe CS, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Experience with Javascript, JQuery, PHP and customizing existing themes a plus
  • Online portfolio showcasing design and development preferred
  • Experience designing and creating responsive layouts
  • Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and solutions
  • Understanding of digital marketing as it applies to website design and user experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM a plus
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and customer relation skills
  • Able to adapt to changing deadlines and work independently, when necessary
