Mountain Vista Senior Living Community is offering a motivated, enthusiastic, and self-directed Wellness Director a great opportunity to utilize your talents and make a tremendous difference in the lives of older adults as well as colleagues.

Make your mark, expanding, enhancing or revamping the existing program for our skilled care (health center) residents and create new programs for residents living in our other levels of care (assisted living and independent living).

Tap into your passion for fitness and overall healthy lifestyles, to lead the campus wellness program and develop new strategies to increase participation and improve resident health. Implement the latest techniques to help residents build strength, recover from illness or injury, improve balance, physical movements and much more. Motivate, teach and share in residents success as they accomplish their fitness and wellness goals some they may not have known they could achieve! Document the participation and outcomes of your programs, tracking metrics for identifying improvements and opportunities for improvement.

The Wellness Director will coach, mentor and oversee our Wellness Coaches and Activities/Lifestyles staff, as an extension of the program. Create and lead interesting and tailored individualized programs and group classes. In addition to promoting a wellness philosophy with our residents, you will also encourage and support staff health and wellness. You will be an integral component of our multidisciplinary approach encompassing physical, social, emotional, mental, vocational and spiritual well-being.

We are seeking a driven individual to model and encourage healthy habits and fitness in others. Ideal candidates will be able to communicate with a broad mix individuals, of varying ages and fitness levels and be knowledgeable of wellness theory and practice as it relates to the aging process.

  • Requires specialized training in related fitness field. Prefer Bachelor s Degree in exercise science, physical education, occupational therapy or similar.
  • Experience working with seniors or those with disabilities is preferred.
  • Experience with and demonstrated competence in a wide variety of exercise equipment, instructional techniques, injury prevention and fitness counseling.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience in related position.
